Communication & PR Officer

SERICC is recruiting a Communications & PR Officer to join our team at an important stage of development. This is a newly created role, focused on strengthening how we communicate about our work, raise awareness of our specialist services, and engage safely and effectively with the public, partners and media.

About the role

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you will lead on SERICC’s communications and marketing activity, helping to ensure our public-facing content is clear, accessible, trauma-informed and aligned with our values.

A key priority for this role will be supporting the promotion of SERICC’s specialist services for children and young people and their families, ensuring messaging is sensitive, inclusive and safeguarding-aware.

This role focuses on communications, awareness and public engagement and does not hold responsibility for fundraising delivery or income generation.

You do not need to have worked in the VAWG sector previously to apply. We welcome applicants with strong communications experience from other sectors who are committed to learning and working in a trauma-informed way. By trauma-informed, we mean communicating with care, sensitivity and respect, particularly when working with complex or emotive topics.
