SERICC works with relevant agencies and government bodies to draw up legislation, policy and practice which improves service provision, reduces barriers to support & justice, reduces and ultimately eliminates sexual violence.
SERICC works with a range of other agencies, including Essex Police, the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), Social Services, the NHS and other voluntary sector organisations.
Since 2015, SERICC has been part of Synergy Essex, working closely with CARA and Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis (SOS Rape Crisis).
From April 2016, Synergy Essex has delivered the Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Contract for the provision of sexual abuse support services across Essex. The contract has been awarded until at least March 2023. Synergy Essex is also working together on the “First Contact Navigators” project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
We are members of Rape Crisis England & Wales and are approved under their National Service Standards and membership critera.
