Celebration of 16 Days of Activism
04/12/2018
Last night we celebrated, as part of the 16 days of activism against gender violence campaign which runs from 25th November to 10th December. SERICC, CVS, Changing Pathways and other Thurrock community services with members of the community came together to raise awareness of the myths and realities of sexual abuse in our communities.
In the last year SERICC provided services to 1467 individuals, ranging from 3 to 74 years of age. In partnership with SoS Rape Crisis and CARA, we have been able to support 2,962 people across Essex with specialist services.
SERICC have been working with Thurrock Council to roll out training on Challenging Myths Changing Attitudes. Over the 16 days, up to 200 people in work and live in Thurrock will attend the programme.
Every year SERICC works with Thurrock CVS, Changing Pathways and Thurrock Council to host a range of events during these 16 days to create opportunities to have discussions, raise awareness and build a stronger together network on challenging sexual abuse.
We would like to thank everyone who has kindly supported our event by providing raffle prizes for Giving For Thurrock (GIFT). Donations have been received from many companies including Morrisons, R. Munford and Son, Ikea, 365 Foods Ltd, Clair Bingham Beauty and a special performance by Klair from Quest Music Services.
